My name is David Pellot. Before I ever performed my first wedding, I was already deep in the music industry — attending LaGuardia High School of Music and the Arts in New York City, performing in nightclubs throughout the area, hosting a weekly dance music radio show and producing remixes for major-label artists including Britney Spears, Ciara and Chris Brown.
That background isn't a footnote. It's the foundation of everything I bring to your wedding.
The corporate music world led me to something I hadn't expected: a genuine love for the energy of live events and the irreplaceable feeling of bringing people together on a dance floor. Weddings became my focus — not because they were a fallback, but because they're the highest-stakes, most meaningful event a DJ can perform. Every song choice matters. Every transition is felt. Every moment is remembered.
What I do goes well beyond playing music. I provide full reception direction, entertainment production, lighting design and hosting — everything planned in detail with you well before your wedding day. I'm not showing up with a playlist and a speaker. I'm arriving as a partner who has studied your story, understands what makes your crowd tick and knows exactly how to move the night from one unforgettable moment to the next.
I perform one event per day. Always. That means when it's your wedding, I'm not distracted by another event the night before or rushing to a booking the morning after. Your day gets my complete preparation and my complete energy.
What working with me actually looks like
From our first conversation to the last dance, here's what you can expect:
- We plan everything together. Using a personalized online planning portal, we'll map out your entire reception — music, timeline, special moments and announcements — at your own pace, as many meetings as it takes.
- I handle the reception flow. On the day of your wedding, I'm managing the timeline behind the scenes — coordinating with your venue, cueing your wedding party and making sure every moment happens exactly when it should.
- I read the room all night. Great music selection is a skill. Knowing when to shift the energy, when to slow things down and when to push the dance floor harder is an art. That's what 10+ years and 500+ events teaches you.
- Your guests feel it. The measure of a great wedding DJ isn't the equipment or the song library — it's whether your guests are still on the dance floor at the end of the night. That's the standard I hold myself to at every single event.
